Positioning in the Plant :

The chilling Tank along with chilling unit is installed after the cascade cooler.

Primary Function : It is one of the important stages of the process where moisture & CO₂ is separated partly from the air before entering the Molecular Sieve Battery. The air from the cascade cooler passes through the chilling tank, which contains chilled water at a temperature of 6⁰C to 10⁰C. This water is chilled by a Chilling unit. In the chilling tank the moisture entrapped in the air further gets condensed and is separated out as moisture. This moisture is collected in the Moisture Separator and is drained out.
