Contact SupplierThere are two main types of cinnamon: Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum or "true" cinnamon) and Cassia cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia or "Chinese" cinnamon). Ceylon cinnamon is often considered the "true" cinnamon. It has a delicate and sweet flavor with a subtle, citrusy undertone. The color is a light tan, and it rolls into multiple thin layers, forming a quill-like appearance. The quills are brittle and can be easily crushed into powder.Cassia cinnamon trees are native to China, and they are also grown in other parts of Asia and Indonesia. These trees can grow up to 30-40 feet in height. The outer bark of mature cinnamon trees is carefully removed. This inner bark is what becomes cinnamon. It's essential to wait for the tree to mature before harvesting, usually around 2-3 years after planting.
