Cloves

Cloves, which thrive in humid, tropical atmospheres, flourish in Sri Lankan, Malagasy and Indonesian climates. Gathering cloves from farmers and agents in Sri Lanka and Madagascar, Alkhair Exports has collection centers placed throughout both Islands. The cloves are then transported from the collection centers to our central warehouse where the cloves are processed. Dried in our very own sterile drying yards, they are then cleaned and packaged for international shipment worldwide. Cloves are mainly used in Asian and Middle Eastern cooking, and add a distinct flavor to a meal, pairing nicely with other ingredients such as cinnamon or basil. Though many spices are used for medicinal purposes, the clove has a distinct feature that makes it usable as a numbing agent on sensitive tissues – thus making ‘clove oil’ a popular product as well.
