Container Fumigation

Container fumigation is a kind of pest control treatment wherein a commodity or the vessel itself is put through a particular kind of process in order to eliminate the risk of any kind of pests, and hence, the possibility of any type of disease, from entering or leaving the geographical boundaries of a particular place. It is a relatively recent breakthrough procedure when it comes to pest control, for the plain and simple reason that it creates a grossly hygienic environment, by not only removing any kind of pests from within the container and the commodities being transported, but also by stopping any attempts of invasion from any pests whatsoever during or after the relocation of the commodity. The term �fumigation� may be generally described as making a vessel or container air tight, that is, one where even no air is allowed to pass inwards or outwards from it, thus eradicating the possibility of pests entering the environment.
There are two distinct ways in which one can fumigate containers. The first one is known as the Pressure Decay process of fumigation, which involves testing the pressure of the container, and checking if it matches the required value. In case the container manages to maintain that particular value over a period of time, it is said to be �gas tight� and hence, further processes are not required to be gone through before transporting the container itself, or the commodity within it. This term, �gas tight� means that the container is in a condition where it allows not even the tiny particles of gas to enter itself, leave alone pests of any kind. Also, it creates a kind of vacuum from within, so that any pests lying in any corner of the container itself get killed due to lack of oxygen to breathe in.
