#Groundnut or #peanut (Arachis hypogaea), is a species in the legume or "bean" family. It is an annual herbaceous plant growing 30 to 50 cm (1.0 to 1.6 ft) tall. The leaves are opposite, pinnate with four leaflets (two opposite pairs; no terminal leaflet), each leaflet 1 to 7 cm (⅜ to 2 inch) long and 1 to 3 cm (⅜ to 1 inch) broad. India is the second largest producer of groundnut in the world.
Groundnuts Kernels contains more protein then meat, two and half times more than eggs and more than any other vegetable food. Groundnuts in India are available throughout the year due to two-crop cycle harvested in March and October.
