Arachis Hypogaea is a botanical name of the Groundnut. Groundnut is annul herbaceous plant and is a species in the legume or “bean” family. Groundnut is major oilseeds of India. Groundnuts are used in various forms which include groundnut oil, groundnut butter, roasted and salted groundnut, boiled or raw groundnut. In India the important groundnut cultivating states are Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
