Contact Supplierhydrostatic level transmitter is an instrument used to measure liquid level in tanks, wells, or reservoirs by sensing the pressure created by the liquid column
Hydrostatic Level Transmitter
It works based on the principle of Hydrostatic Pressure. The deeper the sensor is in the liquid, the higher the pressure.
This pressure is converted into a **level reading (meters, liters, or %) **.
⚙️ How it Works (Simple)
Sensor is placed at the bottom of the tank or submerged in liquid
Liquid exerts pressure:
P = ρ × g × h
The transmitter measures pressure and converts it into level output (4–20 mA signal)
Types of Hydrostatic Level Transmitter
1. Submersible Type
Placed directly inside liquid
Used in borewells, tanks, rivers
2. External (Bottom Mounted)
Installed outside tank at bottom
Used in closed tanks
3. Differential Pressure Type
Measures difference between top & bottom pressure
Used in pressurized tanks
⚡ Output Signals
4–20 mA (most common)
0–10 V
Digital (HART / Modbus in advanced models)
🏭 Applications
Water tanks & reservoirs
Borewells & groundwater monitoring
Sewage & wastewater plants
Chemical storage tanks
Oil & fuel tanks
