Contact SupplierGate Valve Description
A gate valve is a linear motion valve designed to start or stop the flow of fluid in a pipeline. It operates by lifting a rectangular or circular gate plate out of the path of the flow. When fully open, gate valves provide minimal flow resistance and a straight-through passage, making them ideal for unrestricted fluid flow. They are commonly used in applications where the valve remains either fully open or fully closed and are not recommended for throttling purposes.
Gate valves are widely used in water supply systems, oil & gas pipelines, chemical and process industries, and power plants due to their durability and low-pressure drop. They are available in various body materials such as cast iron, ductile iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, bronze, and alloy steels to suit different media and temperature ranges.
