Linoleic Acid

Omega-6 fatty acids are commonly found in the seeds and oils of most plants. Linoleic acid is the parent fatty acid of the Omega-6 family. Linoleic acids are converted into Arachidonic acid or Gamma-linoleic acid as the case may be and incorporated in the cell membranes. Arachidonic acid when acted upon by enzymes like cyclo-oxygenase lipoxygenase release pro-inflammatory local hormones called prostaglandins & leukotrienes, the so called bad eicosanoids.
