    There are mainly two types of Fresh Chickpeas produced i.e. Desi and Kabuli. Chickpeas are eaten to reduce fats,improve digestive system,and to gain protein. They can be separated on the basis of their following features Desi chickpea - These are spilt peas and are relatively smaller in size having a thicker seed coat. The other Kabuli Chickpeas are larger and lighter in size than Desis.

Chickpeas contain dyslipidemia that prevents the concentration of cholesterol in blood.Chickpeas can be cooked and used in salads, curries, soups and stews.
