M/s Eastern Refractories Limited (ERL), a company by shares was incorporated in january 1992. The company was promoted by m/s eastern minerals involved in the business of mining & manufacturing minerals pyrophyllite & diaspore an important ingredient for refractories manufacturing.
M/s eastern minerals (em) was the first to identify minerals pyrophyllite & diaspore in the bundelkhand region of u.p. & m.p. M/s em took a mining lease in 1962 and subsequently started its activities in pioneering the use of pyrophyllite in the ceramic industries & diaspore in the refractory industries. Way onwards m/s em acquire 15 mines for minerals diaspore & pyrophyllite. A part of its forward integration m/s em had set up refractory manufacturing facilities in the name & style of m/s erl, for the purpose of manufacturing high alumina refractories ranging from 30% alumina to 90% alumina utilizing mainly the minerals from the mines of m/s em. Pyrophyllite is a low alumina raw material having very low iron, good thermal shock resistance & appreciable reversible thermal expansion & good mor properties making it most desirable to be utilized for applications requiring these specifications. Diaspore another important raw material having 60% alumina & 2% iron with mullite & coroundum phase is most desirable for blast furance, aluminium furnace, copper furance & glass melting tanks applications.
M/s erl, is utilizing the above raw material and also raw materials like bauxite, sillimanite etc. For manufacturing high quality high alumina refractories.
erl is having its own sources of raw materials, which gives it enhanced strength in smooth raw material availability & low cost production with improved quality.

Trl krosaki refractories limited (trlk) is world’s fifth largest refractories producer. Trlk is now having full control of erl plant over production, management, marketing and after sales service.
