The filtration system is installed on the discharge of the pump for on line filtration, and the contaminated liquid flows through these filters, in series. The dirt particles are retained on the outer surface of the filter media and the clear liquid flows through. As the retention of dirt increases on the media surface the pressure drop increases across the filter, and at predetermined differential pressure the filter media approaches “dirty condition”.
