    STORAGE CONDITIONS:Sumatriptan succinate should be stored at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. It's crucial to keep the container tightly closed and stored in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid storing it near sources of ignition or incompatible materials like strong acids or bases. 

     

     

     

    HOW TO USE: Usually inject it into your thigh. The medicine generally works in 10 to 15 minutes. If your headache improves but then comes back, you can inject another dose after 1 hour. If the first sumatriptan injection does not help, do not have another one for the same attack.

     

     

     

    HOW SUMATRIPTAN SUCCINATE WORKS:Sumatriptan acts as an agonist on 5-HT1B/1D receptors by inducing vasoconstriction in the basilar artery and blood vessels within the dura mater. The drug reduces peripheral nociception either by selective cranial vasoconstriction or by affecting trigeminovascular nerves.

     

     

     

    PHARMACOKINETICS OF SUMATRIPTAN SUCCINATE:Sumatriptan has a volume of distribution of 50±8L for a 6mg subcutaneous dose 7, or 2.7L/kg. Sumatriptan is 14%-21% bound to protein in circulation. Sumatriptan is predominantly metabolized by monoamine oxidase A 7,10,8,10,5,9. The main metabolites are the inactive indole acetic acid and indole acetic acid glucuronide.

     

     

     

    SIDE EFFECTS OF SUMATRIPTAN SUCCINATE: The normal side effects caused by SUMATRIPTAN SUCCINATE are flushing, tingling feeling, feeling warm or cold, drowsiness, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, muscle cramps.
