The tamarind is best described as sweet and sour in taste, and high in acid, sugar, vitamin B and, interestingly for a fruit, calcium. Tamarindus Indica is used as in Indian Ayurvedic Medicine for gastric and/or digestion problems, and in cardioprotective activity.
