Tension Set Apparatus

Tension set is defined as the proportion of applied tension enduring after a sample has been extended or stretched and allowed to pull back in a specified manner. The tension is determined by stretching a sample of a standard size to an appropriate length in the machine at a specified temperature and for a specific time period and then allow it to recover. It is indicated as an everlasting set, retained by the sample which is uttered as a percentage of initial stress given to the sample. It is calculated as %age of primary strain.
