Ferrous sulfate
ferrous sulfate, called black alum or green alum, is an inorganic compound whose chemical formula is feso4. It is a kind of aqua green or turquoise crystal. It is used as a common flocculant agent in wastewater treatment. It can remove most of the suspended substances and cod in wastewater. Decolorizing ferrous sulphate anhydride is white powder. If it meets water, it will become blue-green.
Application
1. Reducing agents: it can restore the cr6+ into cr3+ instead of the expensive sodium sulfite, sodium bisulfite and sulfur dioxide. It is cheaper and won�t produce toxic carcinogenic substance.
2. Flocculant agent: it is mostly used as a flocculation agent, which has a lot advantage, such as fast sedimentation speed, large sludge granules and good decoloring. It is especially proper for textile wastewater treatment. As a flocculant, it can be used instead of pac, basic aluminum chloride , polymerization iron, aluminum sulfate and ferric chloride, etc.
3. Precipitating agent: it can remove sulphides and phosphates in wastewater.
4. It can adjust ph value of alkaline water and it has antiseptic effect.
5. Biological nutrients: it can improve the activity of microbes in the system so that it can increase the efficiency and stability of the system.

Rescue measure
skin exposure: take the dirty clothing off and wash the skin where is polluted.
Eye contact: wash the eyes with flowing water or saline.
Inhalation: leave for a place with fresh air. Provide oxygen therapy if it is needed.
ingestion: rinse the mouth or drink milk and egg white.
