In 2013, world production of wheat was 713 million tons, making it the third most-produced cereal after maize and rice, Wheat is used in many forms like flour, semolina, malt, crushed or cut into cracked wheat; parboiled (or steamed), dried etc. and is major ingredient in such foods as bread, porridge biscuits, Muesli, pancakes, pies, pastries, cakes, cookies etc.
