Right from the beginning of the civilization, a wide range of techniques and processes have been employed in order to reduce human effort. different types of methods have been developed and worked out to achieve greater flexibility in the work. in the course of time, the requirements and demands are increased because of seeking more comfort levels, financial and economic factors, factors due to geographic locations, improved trade, market and quality in the work output. in the same passion; sugar cane, extended up to a wide range of application right from the beverages, edibles, electricity from the cane macerate to alcoholic beverages, gained importance and have a great demand in the market. this calls upon effective sugarcane yield as well as efficient harvesting to meet market requirements. so, by considering the above scenario, continuous development of sugarcane harvesting techniques is needed to achieve greater harvesting rate. the sugarcane farmers conventional farming techniques and inability to use the already existing equipment due to economic factors alarms for an urgent need to suggest them an alternative and use a simple and low cost equipment. greater harvesting rate not only presumes a higher cutting rate but also seeks a quality cutting, to effectively replace manpower, feasible to all class farmers. sugarcane harvesting machines that are in the present day market are imported machines and cant be afforded by farmers. in spite of availability at lower hiring charges they are not able to reach the inner sugarcane fields because of their unorganized farming techniques. some of the agri. tech companies have introduced power tiller based sugar cane cutting machines and found that they are not meeting the expectations of the market in terms of operation and economy
