the sample is ignited using the l shaped burner and oxygen % is adjusted till the sample starts to burn like a candle i.e. Sustained burning without extinguishing or rapidly spreading the flame. the sample should burn in this condition for at least 3 mins.

at higher temperature the requirement of oxygen for combustion reduces. The environment around the sample is heated using double walled chimney with heaters for hfta test. The procedure to determine the loi remains the same as for ambient temperature. Reading are obtained for various temperatures and oxygen % vs temperature graph is plotted.

Difference Between Hot Air Oven and Thermal Ageing Oven:

The test requirement is 8 to 20 air changes per hour, measured on a Flow Meter. According to IS standard, if the Oven does not have a regulated air supply, the oven is then termed as a Hot Air Oven and not a Ageing Oven (as offered by some manufactures) and cannot be used for ageing of samples.

After ageing in the ageing test oven for specified temp. & duration the samples are to be tested on Tensile Testing Machine for tensile & elongation. For preparation of Dumb-bell shaped samples, you may require hydraulic hot press, dumb-bell dies, dumb-bell cutting press, two-roll mill etc. Please ask for details.

We are using a combination of two RTD to control the Chamber Temperature. Two RTD are placed approx 100mm apart. The PLC picks the temperature reading from these RTD sensor and average them. This average temperature is used for controlling the chamber temperature.

The Thermal Ageing Test Instrument uses IPC (Industrial PC) with 500 GB hard disk. All the data from the four chambers is collected in the IPC and is used to generate result at the end of the test. The Test result provides the average temperature, air flow, air temperature and agitator RPM over the complete test period. It also generates complete DATA Table and DATA Graph for the test period. All the result files can be saved in a pdf format and printed for future reference.

The test requirement is 8 to 20 air changes per hour, measured on a Flow Meter. According to IS standard, if the Oven does not have a regulated air supply, the oven is then termed as a Hot Air Oven and not a Ageing Oven (as offered by some manufactures) and cannot be used for ageing of samples.

After ageing in the ageing test oven for specified temp. & duration the samples are to be tested on Tensile Testing Machine for tensile & elongation. For preparation of Dumb-bell shaped samples, you may require hydraulic hot press, dumb-bell dies, dumb-bell cutting press, two-roll mill etc. Please ask for details.

The Die is specifically designed to make samples for Smoke Density Test Apparatus. The Die is manufactured in three pieces. The upper and lower plates are support plates. The Middle plate has cut out for the samples as per the standard requirement.

The Die with sample is kept in Hydraulic press for formation of smooth and accurate samples to be tested in Smoke Density .
