The Zero Air Generator for GC is a precision-engineered device designed to supply ultra-pure, hydrocarbon-free air for use as a support gas in Flame Ionization Detectors (FID) and other sensitive detectors in gas chromatography applications. It produces zero-grade air by removing hydrocarbons, moisture, carbon monoxide, and other contaminants from ambient compressed air, ensuring a consistent and clean baseline in analytical measurements.
The system typically uses a multi-stage filtration process that includes a hydrocarbon removal catalytic converter, desiccant dryer, activated carbon filter, and particulate filters. The output purity is generally < 0.1 ppm total hydrocarbon content, with flow rates ranging from 1 to 10 LPM (liters per minute), depending on model specifications. The unit operates at an output pressure of 4 to 7 bar, with built-in pressure regulation, flow control, and safety interlocks.
