A customer in the marine industry contracted American Japanning to perform the custom coating of solenoid units. The parts are 4” in length, with varied widths. The zinc plated steel solenoids were pretreated with an adhesion spray, and a black finish coating was applied with a spray paint application. The application was an advanced mirror image line method, painting the top part then reversing to coat the bottom portion. Visual inspections were implemented to ensure accuracy and integrity.

American Japanning Inc. was contracted by a customer in the transportation industry to custom coat an ice scraper utilized on trains. To ensure a premium finish, the part was prepared for coating with an adhesion spray pre-treatment. The coating was applied to the phenolic board scraper utilizing our advanced paint application process. Units of various dimensions were coated in a number of coatings and colors as specified by the customer. A thorough visual inspection process was implemented to verify quality and accuracy. Turnaround time for production is 7 to 10 days, and we ship 350 units per month to locations worldwide. American Japanning was hired by a customer in the gun industry to custom coat a spring used in a gun magazine. This is an ongoing large volume project, in progress for over 2 ½ years with a special set up at our facilities in order to fulfill the demand. The most common dimensions for the spring are 1 ¾” in width by 15” in length, and it is composed of a black oxide stainless steel. The spring is prepped for treatment with an adhesion spray and solvent cleaning procedure, and a primer and base coat is applied. The final orange colored coat is spray painted on, for an oil coated material finish. The part is visually inspected to certify coating quality and consistency.
