Unitor™ Descaling Liquid is a concentrated hydrochloric acid-based descaler formulated for efficient removal of rust, scale, and mineral deposits from boilers, heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, and cargo hold bulkheads. It contains corrosion inhibitors to minimize metal degradation and wetting agents for deeper penetration into deposits.

This fast-acting cleaning solution is ideal for marine, offshore, and industrial applications, effectively breaking down water scale, rust deposits, and cargo residues such as cement and lime wash. The product is compatible with Unitor™ Chemical Cleaning Units for large-scale descaling operations and should always be handled with proper safety precautions.

How to Use

1. Descaling Process:

• Use circulation method for large systems or immersion bath for small components.

• If equipment is contaminated with oil, pre-clean with Unitor™ Seaclean Plus™ or Unitor™ Enviroclean™.

• Always mix acid into water (never the reverse).

2. Recommended Dilution:

• Mix 10–30% solution in fresh water, depending on scaling severity.

• Use plastic containers only.

3. Post-Treatment Neutralization:

• After descaling, rinse with 0.5% Nalfleet™ Alkalinity Control™ solution for 2–4 hours to neutralize acidity and passivate steel surfaces.

Safety Precautions: Always follow SDS guidelines, use protective equipment, and ensure proper ventilation to prevent exposure to acidic fumes and gases.

How to Use

Drain Cleaner

• Use 500ml of Unitor™ Gamazyme™ Digestor per 5cm drain diameter to restore flow in drains and keep them free-flowing.

• Repeat the operation if necessary.

• Use regularly (daily or several times a week) to maintain grease-free drains.

Cleaning of Pulpers

• Flush the entire system, including pulpers and pipes, with warm water (max 60°C) and Unitor™ Gamazyme™ Digestor at the end of the day.

• Dose the product neat into the economiser tank using a dosing pump.

• Recommended dosage: approximately 2 litres per m³ of water.

Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner™ is an innovative multifunctional water based cleaner that removes scale, rust, oil and grease all in just one step. 

Product information 

Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner™ is the new generation in one step cleaner products. It is designed for cleaning of boiler or cooling systems especially on board new buildings. The product is recirculated through the systems, using an external circulation pump. Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner™ is low foaming and will remove scale, rust, oil and grease at the same time.

Directions for use

Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner™ is for cleaning of new boilers and cooling systems on board new buildings. It will remove scale, rust, oil and grease at the same time from the systems. The product is recirculated through the system, using an external circulation pump. Use the dosage 5-10% solution depending on the grade of contamination.

Degreasing and descaling of boiler and cooling water systems

• The Unitor™ Chemical Cleaning Unit - Product no. 664 737189 - is recommended to be used.
• Drain system to be cleaned if necessary.
• Inspect as completely as possible to determine the extent of contamination and general condition of system.
• Fill with fresh water.
• Add a solution 5-10% strength of Unitor™ Commissioning Cleaner™.
• Circulate through the system for 5 to 8 hours at the maximum temperature allowed by the system.
• Drain system complete and flush thoroughly the entire system and all compounds with fresh water until effluent is clear.
• Reinspect to determine results of the cleaning process.
• If unsatisfactory, repeat steps 3 through 7.
• Refill system with distillate or good quality fresh water and dose the required amount of cooling or boiler water treatment.
• Test system on a regular basis to insure chemical residuals are maintained with specific limits.
