Champion Automatic Miscella filter is high efficient self-cleaning filter. This filter is specially designed for fine filtration of Miscella ranging from 50-500 micron and is capable of filtrating in high viscosity fluids up to 800000 cps. Removing the impurities particles on the filter element outside by mechanical scraping can avoid extruding and breaking the impurities.

The self-cleaning function keeps the filter element/screen clean. It is triggered by differential pressure or timing, whichever comes first. To reduce the liquid loss during purging, high impurity concentration waste liquid is discharged. A wedge wire filter element is installed in a vessel which has inlet and outlet connections. The Miscella with sediments is fed to the vessel continuously and sediments gets filtered in wedge wire screen and are continuously scrapped by rotating brushes fixed on a central shaft, sediments being heavy settle at the cone and are periodically de-sludged from bottom of vessel through bottom ball valve with actuator which is controlled by a timer.

Therefore valve opens at interval fixed by a timer and settled sediments are de-sludging and sent back to extractor.

The central shaft is rotated at slow rpm by gear box/flameproof motor fixed at top of the vessel.

The Champion RBSis specially designed for the continuous removal of coarse particles from process liquids. The accumulated solids are continuously brushed off the filter surface and thereby generating renewed surface area for filtration.

Working principle : The strainer has a stainless steel wedge wire filter basket through which the liquid passes. Any coarse particles suspended in the liquid are held back in the filter basket, and then forced downwards by rotating brushes mounted on a central shaft.

This shaft is driven by an electrical gear motor mounted on top of the unit. The collected particles are removed from the cone at the lower end via the sludge valve, which is controlled via a timer in the electrical cabinet.

Depending on application, the flow is designed to be inside to outside or vice versa with the scraper/brush system mounted on dirt straining area.

For high viscosity products or for improved CIP ability, the strainer can be equipped with teflon scrapers.
