Spirulina Powder (Spirugold) is a dried and non-viable product of the common blue-green algae, Arthrospira platensis (formerly referred to as Spirulina platens is). Spirulina is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the US FDA for all food, beverage, and supplement applications. Spirugold is a free-flowing green to bluish-green powder. It has a mild seaweed odor and is not soluble; it forms a suspension. The Particle size is <125 microns and Bulk Density is >0.48 (g/ml).
