Portable Spike Barrier

It is a portable barrier specifically designed for Police and security personnel to stop vehicles instantly. It is an inexpensive tool which can be rapidly deployed in seconds at a road block or, alternatively, it can be used semi-permanently to protect an important building. Any vehicle passing over the Spike will have its tyres instantly punctured by 100MM spikes which will disable the vehicle quickly, safely and effectively.

Spike-It is very ruggedly constructed from hardened galvanized steel with stainless steel fittings. Its operation could not be simpler - simply slide it out of its carrying case and fold it out to its fully extended length of approximately 3.6metres.

An alternative method of deployment is for Spike-It to be left in its case at the side of the road and pegged into the ground by using the two metal pegs provided. If a vehicle then tries to charge through the road block, Spike-It can be quickly deployed in a matter of seconds by an operator pulling it across the road with the length of thin cord that is provided with the equipment and is attached to its carrying handle.

Spikes will be folded back into its case, enabling a number of units to be carried in the back of a vehicle. This equipment can easily be modified to meet a client\\\'s specific requirements.

The world class high security road spike barriers which is a two-in-System ofPower Lifting Boom BarrierandSurface Fitted Tyre Slicer or Tyre Killerswhich adds unmatched security to any organization. RSB is designed and manufactured to handle high volume of traffic and has a 100% duty cycle. RSB is driven by two independent single phase torque motors with an operating speed of 1 second for the road spike and 2.5 to 6 seconds for the barrier arm. The spikes will only rise after the barrier has passed through a 30 degree on the closing cycle. The spike barrier is designed to offer protection in both directions on entry and exit. The compact design allows for the minimum of excavation work and simplifies the installation.

Special Operating Feature:

The spikes can be disabled electronically by means of reactivating at times when high security is not required and then can be used as normal access barrier.

Specification:

        • The Road Spike Barrier is available from 3m up to 5m. Custom size units can be accommodated. Prices are available on request.

        • Barrier boom arms are manufactured from extruded aluminum tubing powder coated in white with red reflective tape.

        • The barrier is equipped as standard with an anti pedestrian aluminum curtain suspended beneath the boom arm to prevent personal injury.

        • Left and right hand configurations are available.

      • The spikes lower before the boom arm opens. This ensures a safe passage for the vehicle to pass through.
