Forskolin is an active compound found in the roots of the Indian coleus (Coleus forskohlii), a tropical plant related to mint. Forskolin the major diterpenoid, is known worldwide as a fat burning molecule. Forskolin and its derivatives inhibit platelet aggregation, mast cell degranulation, relaxes arteries, regulates insulin secretion and thyroid function, decrease adipose accumulation, reduce body weight and stimulate digestive enzymes secretion. It is used in skin care, treatment of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases etc.
