Adapter Sleeve are suitable where bearing with tappered bore are to be located on cylindrical shaft they require no additional means of securing of the shaft the bearing can be postioned at any point of smooth shaft. This also simplifies dismentling of bearing. Adapter sleeve compromise slotted adapter sleeve, locking nut and retaining plates. For larger sizes retaining brackets are used instead of retaining plates.

The tensile strength of material atleat 430N/mm2. The outside surface of the sleeve has a taper of 1:12, in series H240 and H241 tapper is 1:30.
