Formalin is a hazardous compound with a toxic vapor. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent, irritating odor. Formalin is corrosive and contains 37–50% formaldehyde by mass. It also contains methanol to prevent the precipitation of formaldehyde polymers.Â

·       Flush the eyes with lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes.
