Peripheral Pump

The characteristics of the peripheral pump make them suitable for use in a wide range of industrial sectors where small volumes are to be pumped against high pressures. They can also be installed in applications at a low intake head without creating cavitation problems.

A peripheral pump is a niche product in-between a displacement pump and a centrifugal pump, in which the medium is pumped into a peripheral channel

Peripheral pumps have the following characteristics:

• The ability to transport gas without interrupting the fluid flow or damaging the bearings due to dry running.
• Maximum power consumption at their highest head and lowest flow rate.
• Steep capacity-head (Q-H) curves ideal for pressure-dependent system regulation.
• Insensitive to reverse rotation.
• Very low suction head (NPSH) required.
• Narrow columns (peripheral channels) not suitable for abrasive particles in the fluids.
