The reticulated polyester open cell foam is mainly used is fishery industry, Aquarium (pond and aquarium filters), water ventilation, and air conditioning industries; specify impregnated versions where flame retardancy is required.

The reticulated polyester foam comes in various PPIs (pores per inch) from 10ppi to 110ppi.
