Design & Structure Single Girder (Beam) Design: Unlike double girder cranes, which use two parallel girders, a single beam EOT crane uses a single girder or beam that spans the width of the runway. The hoist and trolley system are supported by this single girder. Trolley and Hoist: The hoist is mounted on a trolley that runs horizontally along the girder. The trolley moves along the length of the crane bridge, while the hoist raises and lowers the load. I-Beam or Box Girder: The girder can be an I-beam (standard I-beam profile) or a box girder, with the latter offering higher strength and rigidity, making it suitable for slightly higher loads or more demanding applications. 2. Load Capacity Moderate Load Handling: Single Beam EOT Cranes are generally designed for moderate load capacities. Light to Medium Duty: These cranes are ideal for applications that involve lifting lighter or medium-weight materials like components, machinery, or equipment. 3. Traveling Mechanism Horizontal and Vertical Movements: Like all EOT cranes, the single beam crane has two types of movement: Horizontal movement: The bridge (mounted on rails) moves along the length of the workspace. Vertical movement: The hoist system lifts or lowers the load as the trolley moves along the beam. Electric Motors: The crane is typically powered by electric motors that control the movement of the bridge, trolley, and hoist. This makes the crane easy to operate, with smooth and controlled lifting and traveling speeds. Traveling Speed: Single beam cranes can be designed with adjustable speed options, allowing operators to control the speed of both the horizontal and vertical movements. 4. Applications Warehouses: Commonly used for moving goods, components, and materials within a warehouse, especially when the load is not excessively heavy. Manufacturing: Often found in light manufacturing plants to transport raw materials or finished goods. Assembly Lines: Used for lifting parts or components within assembly lines or workstations.
