Tree Grates

Decorative tree grates — a common sight in urban settings — are intended to protect tree roots and keep pedestrians from tripping. However, grates may not be the best solution to avoid soil compaction and other tree growth problems, including lack of sufficient space for root growth. One problem on the rise that is leaving trees and pedestrians unprotected across America is the increasing theft of metal tree grates sold to recyclers.
