Marine Gear Oil is a motor oil made specifically for transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials in automobiles, trucks, and other machinery. Marine Gear Oil is of a higher viscosity to better protect the gears and usually is associated with a strong sulfur smell.
The high viscosity ensures transfer of lubricant throughout the gear train. This is necessary since the devices needing this heavy marine gear oil do not have pumps for transferring the gear oil with only a portion of the lowermost gears bathed in an oil sump.
This heavy gear oil can create viscous drag leading to inefficiencies in vehicle operation. Some modern automatic transaxles (integrated transmission and differential) do not use a heavy gear oil at all but lubricate with the lower viscosity hydraulic fluid, which is available at pressure within the automatic transmission.
Most lubricants for manual gear boxes and differentials are hypoid gear oil. These contain extreme pressure (EP) additives and anti-wear additives to cope with the sliding action of hypoid bevel gears.

Introduction / Specification :Motor Engine Oil 30, 40, 50 are blended from highly refined virgin base stocks with high viscosity index and prooven additives that impart detergent, dispersant, antioxidant and anti-wear properties.
Application / Composition :Motor Engine Oil 30, 40, 50 are recommended for use as crankcase oils for older type four stroke gasoline engines, stationary diesel engines, e.g. Pumpset, Genset and for older version of automotive diesel engines, particularly for commercial fleet operation.

Gas Engine Oil 40 & 20W-50 are high performance premium quality Gas Engine Oil with medium ash content for light vehicles running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Gas engine oil have extended oil life due to excellent oxidation and nitration resistance. Medium ash content prolongs the life of the exhaust valves and spark plugs and keeps the pistons and engine clean for smooth operation. Gas engine oil are also compatible with catalytic converter fitted in the exhaust system of vehicles.
Application / Composition of Gas Engine Oil :Gas Engine Oil 40 & 20W-50 are recommended for use in light vehicles, Buses, Taxis, Cars, Autorickshaws (4 stroke) etc. running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Marine Engine Oil were traditionally classified after their kinematic viscosity. Marine Engine Oil is a mostly valid criteria for the quality of the oil as long as the oil is made only from atmospheric distillation.
Today, almost all Marine Engine Oil are based on fractions from other more advanced refinery processes and the viscosity itself says little about the quality as fuel. CCAI and CII are two indices which describe the ignition quality of residual fuel oil, and CCAI is especially often calculated for Marine Engine Oil.
Despite this marine fuels are still quoted on the international bunker markets with their maximum viscosity (which is set by the ISO 8217 standard see below) due to the fact that marine engines oil are designed to use different viscosities of fuel.
