Tray Dryer

At Shashvath fabricators and engineers, we manufacture and supply the Tray Dryers from Thane, Maharashtra. These try dryers are specifically used for drying small granules and particle sized food materials in pharmaceuticals and food industries. Through the dryer, heat is applied directly to make the solid and liquid materials dry. The product is very efficient in its use and promises durability.

General Specifications

Construction

Our dryers will be of robust construction built on formed angles of 10 gauge sheet and suitable reinforced with angles and sections. The dryers internal and external walls are manufactured from 16 gauge thick mild steel sheets. The dryer will be insulated with minimum 75 mm thick glasswool insulation. The dryer will have a fresh air inlet through filter and an adjustable air outlet with a door at the front . The door will be explosion proof and will be locked with the help of spring loaded ball latches with suitable pressure. Door lips will have asbestos / rubber gasket to prevent leakages.

Finishing

The dryer will be treated with 2 coates of Zinc cromate primer followed by internally with high temperature heat resisting aluminium paint and externally with synthetic enamel paint with black borders.

 

We almost ensure to keep the high standard of our dryers by making them of robust construction and by using the best quality of raw materials with eye pleasing workmanship with uniform temperature.

Electrical Heating

Air inside the tray dryer will be heated by “U” tube air heaters each of 1000 watts. The heaters are fitted on the sides of the dryer to facilitate uniform heating. Maximum temperature attained inside the dryer will be 100/200/300’C and will be indicated by a dial thermometer fitted on the dryer . Temperature inside the dryer will be controlled by a thermostat over full range of heating load.

Steam Heating

Air inside the dryer will be heated by two steam calorifier made out of mild steel pipes and tubes and suitably grooved by high conductive continuous galvanised fins. There will be two steam coils fitted diagonally opposite each to facilitate uniform and faster heating. Maximum temperature attained inside the dryer will be 100’C and will be indicated by a dial thermometer fitted on the dryer.

 

THERE ARE 2 STEAM COILS IN ALL MODELS HOWEVER THEIR SIZES AND HEAT TRANSFER AREAS ARE DIFFERENT IN ALL MODELS.

Air Circulation

Air inside the dryer will be circulated by one/two heavy duty axial flow blowers fitted on shafts of ¾” / 1 ¼” dia and driven by ½ TEFC motors of suitable HP. With ISI mark through belt. The special design of the motor ensures uniform air circulation o that there is uniform air current over the entire charge loaded inside the Trolley inside the dryer. The working of the motor will be indicated by lamps in the control panel.

Trolley/Rack System

Models with 12 & 24 trays have a fixed rack system made out of mild steel angles. Model with 48 trays will have one trolley, Models with 96 trays will have 2 trolleys, models with 192 trays will have 4 trolleys and so on. Each trolley’s dimensions will be 840mm x 920mm x 1780mm . It will be made from MS angles and bars. Each trolley will have two fixed and two swivels wheels for movements.

Trays

Trays will be manufactured from 16 or 18 gauge aluminium sheets. Its dimensions are 32” x 16” x 1 ¼” . Trays are also available in SS 304 / 316 , PP & FRP.

Control Panel

Control panel will be fitted on the front of the dryer. It comprises of starter with overload relay, contactor, push buttons, thermostat, indicating lamps, connectors, etc. All components are wired up for connection with an earthing bolt.

Fluid Bed Dryerss

 

The Fluid Bed Dryer manufactured by us is ideal for the rapid, even drying of chemical, pharmaceutical and food product. FBDs are the state of the art drying units comparable to any internationally made FBDs, with all the features available. Our FBDs are built with a working pressure of 3.0 Bar at 800c.

 

The in-house innovation team has been able to enhance the drying capabilities of our FBDs by 18 - 20% thus resulting in lesser drying time, giving a better shelf life to the product. The air handling unit has been designed keeping in mind, tool less construction for ease in cleaning / replacing the filter assembly. The finger bag assembly is with quick release clamps for easy removal and fixing of the finger bag. The machine has been designed ergonomically resulting in ease of operation.

 

OPERATION Fluid Bed Dryer is designed to introduce the hot air stream at the /base of the product container which is filled with the material. Induced draught is created by means of blower and fresh air is sucked into the unit.  This hot air stream expands the material at certain velocity and creating turbulence in the product.  The phenomenon is known as fluidisation and offer conditions which are almost for drying. Fluidisation produces full agitation of solid particles by hot air, heat transfer is extremely high and uniform.  The product is dried fast without appreciable loss of heat.  Filter bags prevent particle escaping from the dryer.

 

APPLICATION :-

 

1) PROCESS UNIT

 

  • The process unit is single pieces welded design, made of stainless steel of SS.

  • All process contact parts are made of SS - 316.

  • The finish employed externally will be all welds ground back and polished into the surrounding materials.

  • All of the external surfaces of the Dryer and all non contact/sight parts will prepared with a uniform fine texture matt finish.

  • The entire product contact surface is mirror finished.

  • Particular attention has been paid to reduce any source of material Entrapment by mirror polishing flush all welds to create crevice free profiles both internally and externally.

  • The expansion chamber containing the filter finger bags & dished end are made of single piece construction from SS 316 quality steel. Below that is the retarding chamber made out of S.S. 316 Retarding chamber is locked with the explosion chamber by means of clamps. The length of the retarding chamber is such designed , thereby providing extra large heat exchange are which exposed each and every particle or the charged batch in the Fluidized air resulting in instant drying.

  • Specially designed base is provided for air vortex effect and to give added strength.

  • A central drain is provided in the base to release wash water.

 

 

 

2) BOWL/ PRO DUCT CONTAINER

 

  • Product bowl is a conical shaped manufactured form SS-316 grade stainless steel having stainless steel mesh support along with fine finish air mesh.

  • The product container Trolley is of Tubular construction made form SS-304 pipe mounted on polypropylene castor wheel (2nos fixed & 2nos. Swivel for maneuverability) which imparts rigidity to carry the product container with the charged load.

  • The batch loading capacity is always higher in case of Fluid Bed dryer, because of better fluidisation by varying the frequent shaking of the finger bags. Shaking period vary depending on the nature of products.

 

 

 

 

 

3) RUBBER GASKET

 

 

 

A solid ‘D’ shaped food type silicon rubber gasket is provided in the groove of the flanged joint (between the product container and the retarding chamber) to prevent any leakage of air with fines during operation.

 

 

 

4) UNIFORM LIFTING OF CONTAINER

 

 

 

Product container is lifted by specially designed arrangement with the help of one centrically fitted pneumatic cylinder which ensures uniform lifting throughout the periphery of the container which ultimately gives uniform upward pressure to the solid ‘D’ shaped Rubber Gasket, thereby preventing any leakage during operation.

 

 

 

5) AUTO SHAKING DEVICE

 

 

 

Pneumatic cylinder is used for auto shaking device of the finger bags is mounted on the body and is fitted with a wire rope made out of S.S. 304 guided by pulleys thus rendering the shaking extremely efficient. It also brings down the finger bags to such a level that these can be inspected very easily form the bottom of the retarding chamber. If the shaking is not efficient, the particles will be retained in the finger bags and there will be no proper fluidisation resulting in formation of lumps in the products container.

 

 

 

6)AIR HANDLING UNIT

 

 

 

Blower and filter with heating arrangement are housed in the rear chamber. They can also be housed the services zone to avoid sound pollution as well as to avoid interference of the maintenance people in the production zone.

 

  • BLOWER

 

  • Centrifugal type blower fan with dynamically balanced impeller and backward curved blades.

  • All Stainless steel construction.

  • Direct coupled none—flameproof electric drive. Anti –vibration mounting and independent sub-support frame.

 

  • Air filter

 

  • Free standing unit constructed from aluminium anodised frame work (SS-304) with doubled skinned panels. All wall panels are cross based for added strength. Quick release panels provided for inspection and maintenance access.

  • The air intake section has a full face external flange for attachment of angle intact, or and extended inlet air duct.

  • Inlet system consists of 20 Micron washable filters, Followed by 5 micron prefilter, then pass through, heating coil section containing a full air duct steam operated heater battery, constructed with stainless steel tubes and headers and a steel casing (SS-304). The moving process air passes through the steam heater to achieve the desired temperature. to match the inlet to the processing unit.

  • PT 100 temperature sensing probe will be fitted into the air Transition duct and will be connected up to the control panel.

 

 

 

7) EXPLOSION VENT

 

 

 

As per international practices the equipment is provided with a rapture disc as measures of explosion Vent, Tested at 2 Bar pressure, mounted on the side of the dryer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8) EARTHING DEVICE

 

 

 

A std designed earthing device spring type is provided with the dryer however intrinsically safe earthing device with low voltage relay is also available.

 

 

 

9) ELECTRO PNEUMATIC CONTROL PANEL

 

 

 

A free standing steel control panel having the following controls.

 

  • Inlet air temperature controller.

  • Exhaust air temperature indicator

  • Product bowl lifting & lowering valve.

  • Process air Damper regulation

  • Blower motor, start & stop.

  • Compressed air pressure Gauges.

  • Filter bag shaking timer

  • Solenoid valves etc.

 

 

 

In Fluid Bed Dryer, temperature distribution throughout the product is uniform and the heat transfer rate is very high.  Due to the reduced drying time high production rates are achieved.

 

As the product is in close contact with the drying air at low temperature, and also for short duration, the physical and chemical properties of the products are generally not effected and therefore the dryer can effectively be used for heat sensitive products.  Due to the continuous movements of product during drying, lump formation, case hardening etc. are minimised.

 

The Fluid Bed Dryer are most suitable for drying, granular, crystalline, coarse or similar material in pharmaceutical, fine chemical, fine chemicals, dyes, food, allied products. The Fluid Bed Dryer is not suitable for drying liquids or pasty  materials.
