Toor dal, a member of the legume family is referred to as lentils or split pigeon peas. It is in fact a common food grain used widely in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The Toor whole is processed further to get converted into a huskless split and it is light in taste.
It is a storehouse of protein, folic acid, vitamins, and minerals. A cup of cooked toor whole supplies around 11 grams of protein to the body. In combination with cereals, the toor dal makes a well-balanced human food. When this dal is combined with rice, a complete protein is gained.

Black-eyed beans, also known as cowpea, is pale-colored with a prominent black spot. These white-colored seeds have a black, pink or purple eye-like shape around the hilum. Seeds are not tightly packed or crowded in the pod and are kidney-shaped or oblong. Black-eyed peas are an excellent source of calcium (211 mg in a 1 cup serving), folate (209mcg), and vitamin A (1, 305 IU), among other nutrients.
Cowpeas are used as vegetable and as a grain also. Dried pulses are cooked with vegetables to make a thick soup.

The Green Gram or moong bean (also known as mung or golden gram) is the seed of Vigna radiata. It is one of the major pulse crop in India.
Moong bean is the seed of Vigna radiate, which is native to India. The beans are small, ovoid in shape, and green in colour.
