It was developed by Cubist Pharmaceuticals, following acquisition of Trius Therapeutics (originator: Dong-A Pharmaceuticals), and is marketed for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (also known as complicated skin and skin-structure infections.Tedizolid is used to treat skin infections caused by certain types of bacteria in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Tedizolid is in a class of medications called oxazolidinone antibiotics.
