Applications of boric acid:
Boric acid can be used in eramics, insecticides, heatresistant glass (borosilicate glass), glass fibers, porcelain enamels, boron chemicals, welding fluxes, flame retardants, fungus control, eyewash solutions, and electroplating, Taxidermy (preserving).
For hardening steel. as a tooling life extender, as a mix in flux, fireproofing fabrics (if you stick or mig weld it will stop those annoying little holes) and weatherproofing wood; as a preservative; manufacture of cements, crockery, porcelain, enamels, glass, borates, leather, carpets, hats, soaps, artificial gems; in nickeling baths; cosmetics; printing and dyeing, painting; photography; for impregnating wicks; electric condensers.
In the health area it is used as an eyewash, an astringent, as an antifungal where it gets rid of yeast infections and an antiviral, against cold sores.
