Clamp the yarn in the clamp fixed on the motor shaft. A guide is provided on the clamp for easy clamping. Pull the other end of yarn through the clamp on the moving crosshead had while clamping ensure that yarn is clamped for proper test length and yarn is free and under correct tension of weight. This is necessary to have uniform length of yarn between the clams under fixed tension to get proper repeatability of the results. Select SZ switch in S or Z position depending upon type of yarn. Put the main switch ON and press the ‘RESET’ push button to ensure zero reading on the digital display unit. Select the motor speed to high speed position. Select ‘NORMAL’ position for initial operation. Start the motor using ‘START STOP’ switch. The motor will now start untwisting the yarn and DIGITAL DISPLAY will start counting. After reaching approx. 90% of expected TPM reading, it is recommended to lower the motor speed to minimum possible to get better results. By using ‘ADJ knob’ the motor can be run in very slow to moderate slow speed, or if motor stops completely test can be run manually by pushing motor shaft by hand.The instrument carries a guarantee for 12 month for free repairs against any manufacturing defects. However this guarantee is void in case of any physical damage or attempted repairs at customer’s end. The instrument is required to be sent to our works at customer’s expenses for claiming warranty services.
