WALNUT OIL

Walnut Oil can be used in cooking and also is high in linoleic acid and helps to regenerate, tone and moisturize damaged dry skin. It is said that walnut oil aids in preventing wrinkles. It is a good oil for eczema, controlling dandruff and rough, dry or sunburned skin. Use it at 10-15% in anti-aging and skin toning products. It is especially useful in anti-wrinkle eye creams, mature skin products, body, bath and massage oils, and lip balms

1.Culinary use

1).Walnut oil is light-colored and delicate in flavor and scent, with a natty quality. Heating tends to reduce the oil′s flavor & nutritive value and to produce a slight bitterness.

2).Walnut oil is at its most valuable in cold dishes such as salad dressings, to flavor fish and steaks, to toss with pasta, and to jazz up desserts, where it lends it flavor to best advantage.

3).Try using walnut oil in dessert recipes that will be enhanced by the nutty flavor, or brush a thin coat of walnut oil on grilled fish and steaks just before serving .

2. Artistic use or other use

1) Some woodworkers flavor walnut oil as a finish for implements that will come in contact with food, such as cutting boards and wooden bowls. It is short drying time and lack of yellow tint make it a good oil paint base thinner and brush cleaner.

2) It is reported that walnut oil is effective in combating various types of skin problems, including fungal infections, warts, eczema and psoriasis! Walnut oil is also used as massage oil.

3) People who mix oil & wax to formulate wood finishes value walnut oil as an ingredient because of itsedibility and resistance to oxidation(going rancid). The oil typically is combined with beeswax in a mixture of 1/3 oil to 2/3 beeswax.
