This apparatus is designed to determine the density of powder beds of different pharmaceutical & chemical powders. It is most useful in the field of tablet manufacturing , capsules filling and cosmetics manufacturing. The housing is made of CRCA sheet with attractive duco paint. A motor moves a shaft having clamps at both the ends to hold graduated glass cylinders in an up and down direction at a frequency rate of about 30 strokes per minute through a distance of 5 to 6 cms . The flanged bottom of the glass cylinders stick on a cushion fitted on the platform. A mechanical timer cum stroke counter switch is provided to set the number of strokes upto 450. Suitable for 2 cylinders of 50 ml (supplied without glass cylinder)
Operating instructions
1)Un-screw the knurled rings of the two cylinder holding bracket by turning them in an anti-clockwise direction.
2)Weigh the powder first and then fill it in both 50 ml cylinders ( one cylinder can be used for your standard powder and other one for the test sample )
3)Keep the cylinders on each of the bracket and insert the knurled ring from the top of the cylinder and tighten it gently by turning it till the cylinder is held firmly on the bracket.
4)Connect the three pin plug to 230 V A.C. supply and switch " ON" the main switch. Red neon light will glow indicating that the mains is " ON ".
5)Turn the black knob of the mechanical counter in clockwise direction and set it to the required stroke on the dial. Red neon light will glow indicating that the motor is " ON ".
6)The bracket carrying the 2 cylinders will move up and fall down on the rubber bed with about 30 strokes per minute. The black knob pointer will come to its original position, slowly as the required counts of the strokes are completed and at the same time it will switch "off " the motor and also red neon light.
7)Note down the reading on the cylinders and then calculate the bulk density.
Bulk density = weightvolumeNotice : do not turn the mechanical counter knob in anti-clockwise direction , if done, it will damage the regulator.
THE SHITAL DIGITAL FRIABILITY TEST APPARATUS is microprocessor based instrument designed to monitor the resistance to tablets to stresses and to decide their suitability for the future process. These tests are carried out by quality control and R & D departments in pharmaceutical industry. A fix 25 RPM motor drives the unique Universal Acrylic Drum (Same Drum can be used at the left or right side of the Instrument). Digital microprocessor based counter is provided to pre-set the revolution & automatically stop the motor with alarm. This feature eliminates the tedious calculation of timer mode. In power failure, the nonvolatile memory of the microprocessor remembers the last mode of operation, and complete the test after the power supply is resumed. Easy loading and unloading of the drum with positive grip is provided. Unloading of the drum after every test is required to remove the traces of loose dust on the drum for accurate calculation of the friability.
SHITAL DISSOLUTION RATE TEST APPARATUSis designed to carry out test of tablet and capsule as per USP Standard. These tests are carried out by quality control and R & D departments in pharmaceutical industry.SHITAL DISSOLUTION RATE TEST APPARATUS consists of constant temp. water bath made of transparent acrylic. The round bottom glass jar is placed inside the bath. The jar have acrylic lid which allow passing of stirring shaft. The shaft is suspended from the top & are operated by the motor. The motor is electronically controlled to give speed precisely within 1RPM. The RPM is controlled digitally and is indicated on a digital display.
Temp. is controlled by fully solid state controller within 0.5C. Additional feature ofSHITAL DISSOLUTION RATE TEST APPARATUSis a digital pre-set Timer with audio alarm. The basket assemblies and stirring paddles are made from 316 grade stainless steel.
Speed: Digital variable from 25 to 160 with accuracyof 1RPM.
Temp.: Digital 5C. above amb. To 45.0C accuracy 0.5C.
Timer: Microprocessor based preset timer 00 : 01 to99 : 59 Hrs. with alarm
Display: Digital 12mm Red LED for Temp. , Speed, Time
TABLET DISINTEGRATION TEST MACHINENEW I.P 1985 SPL
This apparatus is used for the determination of single or mixed melting points of most organic substances in powder form. These substances , which are opaque at ambient temperature become transparent on melting. The melting point is noted on a mercury-in glass thermometer just when the substance under test starts melting. |
The thin glass capillaries which are inserted into the three holes in the aluminum block are illuminated by an incandescent lamp and are seen magnified by the use of a built-in double convex lens. This eliminates the strain of viewing the thin glass capillaries in which the powders under test is / are placed. The rate of rise of temperature of the aluminum block is controlled by a rotary rheostat built into the apparatus. The glass capillaries are in thermal contact with the aluminum block and therefore heat transfer is efficient. When the substance starts melting, the temperature as indicated by the inserted thermometer is noted , which is the melting point temperature of the particular substance. |
A boost heater to heat the block rapidly is also provided. Put of booster heater when temperature will reach 25c to 30c below the required temperature (i.e. Rough melting point of the substance) . Slow heating will help to give accurate melting point. As an optional accessory , a cooling plug to bring down the temperature can be supplied, which is to be inserted in the hole where thermometer bulb was kept . Cooling takes place by circulation of water in the cooling plug which has an inlet outlet. |
