Evaporator Shell & Tube TypeThe chiller is equipped with a water-cooled shell and tube type evaporator, engineered for an evaporating saturation temperature (SST) of 10 C. The system is intended for applications requiring a chilled water operating temperature range of 15 C to 20 C. The evaporator assembly incorporates two (2) refrigerant circuits and is designed to handle a chilled water flow rate of 19, 700 LPH, corresponding to a temperature differential of approximately 23 C, thereby providing a net cooling capacity of 527 kW.
The evaporator shell is constructed from carbon steel with a minimum wall thickness of 10 mm using seamless fabrication, ensuring high mechanical strength and extended service life. Heat transfer is achieved through internally grooved copper tubes arranged in a U-bundle configuration, which enhances overall thermal efficiency. The evaporator is provided with 6-inch water inlet and outlet connections and is designed for a water-side pressure loss of 0.4 bar. The maximum allowable working pressure on the water side is 10 bar, while the refrigerant-side design pressure is rated at 25 bar.
Chilled water circulation through the evaporator is ensured by a centrifugal mono-block pump, rated for 90, 000 LPH at a total dynamic head of 15 meters, driven by a 5.5 kW electric motor.
Condenser Water Cooled Shell & Tube TypeThe condenser is a water-cooled shell and tube type heat exchanger, designed to operate at a condensing saturation temperature (SDT) of +35 C. The condenser is capable of rejecting a total heat load of 718 kW. The shell is fabricated from carbon steel and finished with an epoxy protective coating to provide enhanced corrosion resistance, while the heat transfer surface consists of plain copper tubes assembled in a tube bundle configuration.
The condenser is provided with 6-inch cooling water inlet and outlet connections and is designed for a cooling water flow requirement of 140, 000 LPH. The water-side pressure drop is limited to 0.4 bar, with a water-side design pressure of 10 bar. The refrigerant-side design pressure is rated at 30 bar.
Cooling water circulation for the condenser is provided by a centrifugal mono-block pump, rated for 110, 000 LPH at a head of 10 meters, driven by a 5.5 kW motor suitable for operation on 380415 V, 50 Hz power supply.
Compressor Screw TypeThe chiller is fitted with a compact screw type compressor, designed to deliver a cooling output of approximately 550 kW. The compressor is suitable for continuous full-load operation (100%) and supports step or stepless capacity regulation at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, allowing efficient matching of system capacity with varying cooling demand. The compressor is provided with a star-delta starting arrangement, with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) operation available as an optional provision. The compressor electrical power input shall be as per system design and actual operating conditions.
