Description- Grade 5 foxnuts are mediumlarge makhana in the 16–20 mm range (≈ 5 Suta), widely considered the ideal “allrounder” grade for international snack brands. They offer a more premium look and mouthfeel than standard grades while still giving good yield per kilogram, making them perfect for flavoured, roasted and coated SKUs in supermarkets and healthfood channels.
Like all highquality makhana, Grade 5 delivers about 347 kcal, 9–10 g protein, 14–15 g fibre and very low fat per 100 g, along with meaningful levels of calcium, magnesium and potassium that support heart and bone health. The combination of a low glycaemic index, antioxidant flavonoids such as kaempferol, and glutenfree profile positions this grade strongly for ketofriendly, diabeticfriendly and weightmanagement product lines.

Description- Grade 4 foxnuts are standardsize phool makhana with popped diameters of roughly 14–16 mm, giving an excellent balance between piece count per kilogram and visual size for mainstream retail and valuesegment SKUs. They maintain the classic white to offwhite colour and crunchy texture associated with Mithila makhana while offering more pieces per serving than larger grades, which is attractive for granola, breakfast mixes and coated snack applications.
Nutritionally, Grade 4 has the same superfood profile as any premium makhana: about 347 kcal, 9.7 g protein, 76–77 g carbohydrates, 0.1–1.9 g fat, and 14.5 g fibre per 100 g, along with important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. With its low glycaemic index, glutenfree and lowfat nature, Grade 4 is ideal for everyday healthy snacking, cereal mixes, and budgetfriendly privatelabel products while still meeting global wellness trends.
