Macrospray nozzles, designed and manufactured by the Parker Aerospace Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division, provide enhanced performance at significantly reduced installation and life-cycle costs.
Using hydraulic pressure only, Macrospray technology allows the production of very fine atomized sprays without the added cost and complexity of air compressor assistance. Nozzle passages are designed to minimize pressure drop, conserving mechanical or pressure energy up to the exit orifice. These nozzles can be designed to integrate into almost any housing, in a wide range of spray configurations. Digital tooling makes custom products possible; and when needed, controls, sensors, pumps, and packaging can be incorporated into an entire spray system solution.
This innovative Macrospray technology is also found in fuel spray nozzles of aero engines in service today. These Parker nozzles contribute to engine emissions reductions resulting in low-smoke, low-NOx, and low-CO emissions.
Spider nozzles are able to provide larger coverage areas than conventional pressure-swirl or impact-type nozzles because they have two, four, six, eight, or 12 spray points per assembly. Using fewer bosses and less piping, these nozzles offer quicker installation, lighter weight, and lower installation and maintenance costs.
These multiple injection point nozzles provide superior spray performance with significantly higher flow rates, making them ideal for applications where higher volumes of liquid with fine drop sizes are required.
