Arjun Bark, Color : Brown

The Arjuna tree is about 20–25 metres tall with a buttressed trunk, and forms a wide canopy at the crown and its branches drop downwards. It has oblong, conical leaves which are green on the top and brown below. Pale yellow flowers appear on the tree between March and June. The tree usually grows on the river banks or near dry river beds in Bangladesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and south and central India. Arjuna in powder form is used in the treatment of wounds, hemorrhages and ulcers. Dry Arjun Bark has traditionally been used to treat heart disease for centuries and is known as the “Guardian of the heart.” It also exhibits antibacterial, anti-mutagenic, hypolipidemic, antioxidant and hypocholesterolemic and anti-inflammatory effects. Dry arjun bark regulates cholesterol by decreasing LDL levels in the liver and acts as natural liver tonic.
