mechanism of action:
epidix (phenytoin sodium) controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
itotas (itraconazole) is an antifungal medication which belongs to a class of drugs known as triazoles, it is generally used to treat infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails.
indications:
aspergillosis (fungal infection in the lungs)
fungal infections of mouth & throat
vulvovaginal candidosis (vaginal yeast infection)
blastomycosis (a fungal infections of the lungs which can cause pneumonia)
onychomycosis (fungal infection of the toenails or fingernails)
mechanism of action:
itraconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of fungal cell membrane by the inhibition of an enzyme called lanosterol 14--demethylase (this plays a key role in the synthesis of fungal cell membrane), thereby providing fungicidal and fungistatic action.
