The FieldScout TruFirmoffers a quick, easy, and affordable method to measure the firmness of turf and bunker sands. Data acquired from the device allows golf course superintendents and sports turf managers the ability to take appropriate actions to reach the desired firmness of golf course greens, fairways, and bunkers, as well as other playing surfaces.
The primary objective behind the developement of the TruFirmwas to improve championship-caliber playability by cultivating greens that are both firm and fast. By measuring the relationship between the compaction of the soil and the moisture level, greenkeepers are able to ensure healthy, aesthetically-pleasing greens that offer exceptional playability. Objective data measurements allow turf management professionals to balance the fine line between soil moisture and firmness, which can challenge even the most experienced experts in the industry.

The patented TruFirmsystem utilizes a hemisphere-shaped impact hammer that mimics the shape of a golf ball to better simulate golf ball impacts. The mass is dropped from a consistent height and the maximum turf penetration value is recorded and correlated to the surface firmness the lower the penetration value, the firmer the turf.

TheCOMBI5000 is an universal instrument for the immediate measurement of the most important parameters in plant production. With theCOMBI5000 hand-held measuring instrument the growth-relevant parameters such as pH value, EC value, activity (salinity in substrate/soil), temperature, soil Moisture, humidity and air pressure can be determined quickly and accurately.

All measurements can be carried out both in the (nutrient) solution and/or soil suspension but also directly in the soil or substrate. This way, the plant producer can detect a deficiency or surplus of nutrients at an early stage and react in a targeted manner to ensure the good development of the crop.

TheCOMBI5000 works with automatic sensor recognition and automatically changes to the appropriate measuring mode each time the electrode is being changed. Measuring system

The measuring principle of the SWM 5000 is based on the latest FDR technology (Frequent Domain Reflectometry). It enables fast and precise determination of soil moisture. Temperature is measured by an internal NTC sensor. The central hardware component is a robust stainless steel measuring probe, which is hydraulically or manually pressed into the ground. Measuring sensors are located in the probe tip during manual measurement.

The SWM 5000 soil moisture lance has been designed as stand-alone unit (handheld meter and measuring probe).

You need accurate soil moisture measurements from easily installed sensors without extensive excavation. Most profile probes require you to choose between ease of installation and removal, sensor accuracy, measurement volume, and durability. At METER, we weren’t willing to create a soil moisture profile probe unless it could meet all of these requirements. That’s why we made the TEROS 54. There’s the hard way, and then there’s the right way

We designed the TEROS 54 profile probe to make every step of your measurement process easier—without sacrificing accuracy or durability. Soil water content and temperature sensors are positioned at 15, 30, 45, and 60 cm depths, providing root zone measurements without requiring soil pits or cumbersome sensor retrieval at lower depths. You get the convenience of profile measurements combined with the research-grade accuracy you’ve come to expect from METER.

Avoid the cost, hassle, and time of large drilling equipment and pilot tubes. TEROS 54 installation only requires a simple 2 cm borehole for the robust quad-fin profile sensor to then be hammered into the soil. This creates better sensor/soil contact for more accurate readings. Removing the TEROS 54 is made simple with the dedicated extraction tool, making this sensor ideal for annual crops that require sensors to be installed and removed multiple times throughout the year.

Complete Moisture Characteristics in 3-5 Days

HYPROP is a modular lab instrument that generates a moisture characteristic curve and determines the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity of soil samples in standard 250 ml soil sampling rings. After setup the system generates the moisture characteristic while running unattended.

Highly Accurate

Two precision mini-tensiometers measure water potential at different levels within the sample while the sample rests on a precision laboratory scale (2000 gram range; 0.01 gram resolution). As the sample dries, changes in water potential are correlated to changes in moisture content using the Wind/Schindler evaporation method.

Verified Results

Results are verified and values for dry range and saturation are calculated according to a selected model (i.e., van Genuchten/Mualem, Bimodal van Genuchten/Mualem, or Brooks and Corey.) Model parameters can be selected before, during, or after the measurement procedure.
