The plant produces unisexual yellow flowers and cylindrical, green-skinned fruits commonly known as cucumbers. It typically grows to a height of 1 to 2 meters when supported and thrives in warm climates with well-drained, loamy soil and full sunlight. Ideal germination temperature ranges between 20°C to 30°C, and the plant matures in 50 to 70 days after sowing. The average fruit length ranges from 10 to 30 centimeters, depending on the variety. Cucumis sativus requires consistent moisture and benefits from trellising for better air circulation and yield. It is primarily cultivated for fresh consumption or pickling and is rich in water, fiber, and vitamin K.
