Local Name : Black Catechu (Cutch) Descriptions : Tree growing to 12m, with thorny branches and divided, leathery leave Parts of use : Bark, heartwood, leaves and shoots. Medicinal Uses : It is a strong astringent and clotting agent. It helps reduce excess mucus in the nose, the large bowel or vagina. It is also used to treat eczema, haemorrhages, diarrhoea dysentery. It may be used as a tincture, infusion, powder or ointment. Research has shown that it can also be used to lower blood pressure.
