It is used to maintain power factor by the use of capacitor bank to suit the variations in inductive/resistive loads. Specially in industrial sector, heavy inductive loads are very common to give low power factor, which results in higher demand charges and also low power factor penalties. APFC panel provides automatic switching operation of the suitable capacitor bank for fixing power factor from load fluctuation.
