USBasp AVR In System Programmer (ISP) hardware from Laktronics is based on the combined USBasp firmware design by Thomas Fischl and OBJECTIVE DEVELOPMENT GmbH, and is supplied by us as per the terms and conditions of the GNU GPL Version 2.
USBasp is a USB In System Programmer for Atmel AVR controllers. The original design is built around an Atmega8 or an Atmega88 and a couple of passive components. Our model of USBasp is built around an Atmega8. The programmer uses a firmware-only USB driver, no special
USB controller is needed, resulting in lowest hardware cost. There are different choices available for drivers and application software. Being an open source design, the customer is free to choose any device driver or
application package to suite his requirements or system environment. Even the firmware supplied with USBasp can be replaced by another new firmware, if required, to get the latest features available.
Our product has added advantage of electronic protection of the Computer USB supply as well as the ISP signal lines of the programmer.
